Minimum Qualifications Three years of experience* in a secretarial or administrative support position. The ideal candidate will also possess:⢠Proven organizational and administrative skills.⢠Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word.⢠The ability to work both independently and as a part of a team and handle multiple priorities with tight deadlines.⢠The ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate considerable tact and discretion. ⢠Strong oral and written communications skills.*Substitution: Certification (such as the International Association of Administrative Professionalsā Certified Administrative Professional), diploma, or associateās degree in office administration, secretarial science, administrative assistance, paralegal, business technology, or office technology may substitute for two years of experience.
Duties Description The Administrative Assistant, NS, will work in the Office of General Counsel (OGC) reporting directly to the General Counsel for DPS, and will provide administrative support and confidential services directly to the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel including, but not limited to: ⢠Working closely with the General Counsel and serving as a liaison between the attorneys and support staff within the Office.⢠Tracking and keeping the General Counsel apprised of recent developments that may need urgent action and scheduling commitments and travel arrangements. ⢠Being responsible for special projects under the supervision of the General Counsel or Deputy General Counsel. ⢠Maintaining the schedules of and the confidential correspondence for the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel. ⢠Reviewing and editing documents for the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel. ⢠Tracking the status of session items prepared by OGC and assisting in the coordination of the session process, including providing the General Counsel with a session binder (including all session items) prior to the Commission session. ⢠Issuing notices to the Office of General Counsel regarding submission deadlines for matters to be included on the Public Service Commission session calendar. ⢠Posting matters to the Department's electronic document management system. ⢠Reviewing and editing documents prepared by OGC to ensure compliance with the directives of the General Counsel. ⢠Coordinating and tracking various functions within OGC and compiling data and preparing studies and reports as directed by the General Counsel. ⢠Making travel arrangements and seeking reimbursement for travel costs.

This is an appointment to a position in the exempt jurisdictional class. As such, the incumbent of this position would serve at the pleasure of the appointing authority.
