Good luck!☺️

Job description

Langford Vets has an exciting opportunity for an Interventional Cardiologist to join our team, to participate in cutting-edge interventional cardiac research and to work in our state-of-the-art small animal referral hospital.

This opportunity offers the benefit of working within both a purpose-built research facility with a world-leading research team and in a large, modern, multi-disciplinary referral hospital with enthusiastic and forward-thinking colleagues. Both facilities are on the same campus, in a beautiful area of the UK countryside. More detail on the pioneering cardiac research can be shared with interested parties.

Our Cardiology Service is well established with a broad and interesting caseload. We have a GE Vivid E95 that has 4D capabilities, a transoesophageal probe with 4D capabilities for interventions, a GE Vivid iq and an EchoPAC workstation. We work closely with other services within the hospital, including anaesthesia, critical care, diagnostic imaging, neurology, medicine, oncology, dermatology, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, behaviour and rehabilitation as well as an on-site diagnostic laboratory to provide exceptional patient care.

We pride ourselves in training – we have an ACVIM residency training program and are currently training two residents. Final year veterinary students spend one week of their rotations working alongside us. Informal clinical teaching of students and interns, as well as participation in teaching sessions for residents is expected. There would also be support available for a successful candidate to be involved in CPD training of vets and nurses.

The campus is located in North Somerset, a designated area of outstanding natural beauty, with easy access to climbing, walking, mountain biking and water sports. We are 20 minutes outside cosmopolitan Bristol for city lovers.

A veterinary qualification that can be registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons is essential. The ideal candidate must have experience of and enthusiasm for interventional cardiology, a strong interest in research and be a Diplomate of either the European or American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Cardiology) or of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (Cardiology), or be residency trained.

We offer a competitive salary, generous pension scheme, 5 weeks holiday per year plus Bank Holidays, Bupa Benefit, CPD, employees discount up to 50%, free onsite parking, free eye test voucher, annual flu vaccinations and enhanced maternity / paternity benefits as an employee of Langford Vets.

Langford Vets encourages a community spirit and great learning opportunities. As a Langford Vets employee you would benefit from a generous CPD allowance, one professional fee paid per year (related to role only), flexible working if applicable to role, friendly and supportive culture, free onsite parking, free eye test vouchers, free annual flu vaccination, long service awards and death in service benefit.
