Waste Connections is looking to hire for a Part Time Scale Operator/Heavy equipment Operator to join the team in Camas, Washington. **Hours will be Monday Through Thursday 8:00 am to 4:30 PM. Hourly Rate of pay is $24.00/HR.** Duties + 50% operating Loader equipment and 50% Helping Customers with incoming Load weight and Payment. + Performs preventive maintenance services. + Performs minor Repairs. + Several pieces of yellow iron are currently on site. Loaders, Grinder, and Excavators) + Ability to efficiently operate bulldozers, wheel loaders, motor graders, scraper. Compactor experience _preferred_ , but not required. + Customer Service + Operate yellow Iron to push piles and load trailers. + Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment. + Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports. + Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards. + Greet and direct all customers and employees upon entry of the transfer station. + Responsible for Balancing out the cash Drawer and reconciling the Credit Card Machine Nightly. + Weighing trucks in and out and calculating payments for customers. + Track weight information from scale to computer system and get appropriate signatures. + Ensuring that incoming garbage loads are safe and do not contain any inappropriate material. + Work on your feet outside throughout your shift + Answers phone in a professional and enthusiastic fashion. + Performs full clerical and general office duties. + Assisting with office duties, filing and paperwork as needed. + Ensuring that customers and employees conduct all business in a safe manner and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). + Providing general upkeep of the Scale House. + Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate a high degree of tact, discretion and diplomacy. + A typical schedule for this position is Monday-Thursday 8:00am-4:30Pm. WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT: + Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds. + Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. + Ability to work exposed to weather and dust. + Ability to operate heavy equipment is required. + Ability to work with the General Public + Knowledge of basic computer skills. + Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance. + Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance including tire pressure, checking oil and water levels. + Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures. **Waste Connections is an equal opportunity employer.
