As the Senior Director of Operations, you will play a crucial role in championing our culture of safety, diversity, development, operational excellence and customer experience. You will take the lead in launching a fulfillment center from concept, start up through stabilization. This leadership position requires expertise in engaging and leading a team of managers to achieve professional excellence. Bachelor's Degree in a related field (e.g., Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Financial Management, Production/Operations Management); and 3 years experience in a senior management role within an operations/distribution/logistics/retail environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees facility-wide OR 2 years experience as a Walmart Logistics Assistant General Manager supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing associates; managing associate workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of associates OR 5 years experience in a senior management role as an operations/distribution/logistics/retail environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees facility-wide
Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (for example, Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).

What you'll do:
- Operational Excellence: Drive and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives within the organization. Develop and implement strategies, methodologies, and tools to optimize operational processes, increase efficiency, and enhance overall organizational performance.
- Drive strategic improvements: Develop and implement a comprehensive business plan for our facility to achieve facility goals, including safety, and maintenance. Identify opportunities for strategic enhancements in complex operations.
- Financial management: Manage financial aspects for a large-scale facility by approving and tracking expenses against budgets. Monitor asset utilization and prepare, review, and analyze business reports.
- Leadership and team development: Lead and direct the facility's leadership team, setting goals, monitoring performance, and providing feedback. Identify training and development needs, ensuring learning and growth opportunities. Support Supply Chain and company policies and procedures. Oversee hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation of associates.
- Compliance and standards: Monitor and ensure facility-wide compliance with logistics, quality, safety standards, policies, procedures, and directives. Develop, distribute, and maintain procedures and supporting documentation. Review and approve forecasted staffing plans to meet business demands.
- Issue resolution: Resolve associate, customer, and supplier concerns by investigating and making fact-based decisions or consulting with others.
- Community engagement: Act as a community liaison by participating in local organizations and charitable activities. Promote company-sponsored programs and events to associates, customers, and the local community.
- Business planning and project execution: Drive the execution of multiple business plans and projects. Identify customer and operational needs, communicate priorities, remove barriers and obstacles, provide resources, set performance standards, measure progress, and adjust accordingly. Demonstrate adaptability and support continuous learning.
- Associate supervision and development: Provide supervision and development opportunities for associates through selection, training, mentoring, assigning duties, and building a team-based work environment. Establish performance expectations, conduct regular evaluations, provide recognition, rewards, and coaching for success and improvement. Foster diversity awareness.
- Policy and ethics: Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity. Train others in their use and application, ensure compliance, and utilize and support the Open Door Policy.
- Continuous improvement: Evaluate ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives to ensure business needs are met.
