SUMMARY: The Manager, Nursing is responsible for all nursing and healthcare-related operations of the subsidiary and implements and oversees an overall nursing and healthcare vision and direction to staff while providing general oversight for all healthcare operations consistent with licensing requirements, legal best practices, ethical best practices and business regulations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Nurse Manager
Ensure that team is staffed appropriately including, but not limited to hour responsibility and ability to cover shifts
- Analyze patient flow problems and assist in instituting corrective actions.
- Monitor nursing staff performance in compliance with established timeframes.
- Function as an electronic health record super user working closely to ensure that appropriate training, error monitoring and corrections are completed in a timely manner.
- Provide direction and support for nursing staff in order to achieve the clinical goals and objectives of the program.
- •Oversee and control stock drugs and controlled substances, including monitoring of all clinical logs for accuracy and completion, including implementation of infection control and standard precautions.
- Manage staff (e.g., hiring, development, performance, terminating, etc.), to ensure utilization of positions assigned to best meet the needs of the individuals served.
- Attend and actively participate in meetings and training as required. Maintain current licensure and certification in all agency, state and federal training requirements.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and comply with all agency policies and procedures, as well as state and federal statutes and regulations related to specific program areas.
- Demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedures and assist in crisis situations.
- Complete all other relevant responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
- Driving and travel may be required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Nurse Manager is responsible for the leading a team of other nursing professionals – setting goals and expectations, evaluation and feedback, as well as recruitment and retention.
- Additionally, the Nurse Supervisor indirectly supervises all staff during their provision of healthcare service implementation to ensure optimum health, safety, and wellbeing for all consumers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in nursing (master’s degree in nursing or a related field is preferred).
- Must have a valid, state-specific Registered Nursing license.
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years Nursing experience with consumers meeting the program admission criteria.
- A minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience
- Meet all licensing requirements set forth by the respective state of operation.
- Certificates, licenses, and registrations required:
- Valid, regular (non-probationary) state driver’s license and personal vehicle insurance that meets the company’s minimum coverage expectations.
- Credentials/licensure according to state and/or contract regulations
- Computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite, Electronic Health Record systems
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Continually remain active, alert and able to respond to all scenarios
- Possess the ability to perform and personally apply the state-specific crisis intervention program and CPR/First Aid skills in their entirety in trainings and actual events
- Continually required to walk, sit, stand, talk, hear, smell
- Frequently required to balance, bend, stoop, kneel, utilize hand/finger dexterity
- Occasionally required to kneel, crawl, taste
- Frequently could be exposed to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials
- Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
- The team member must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
