The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is a critical interface between Design Engineering and Manufacturing operations. They work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary Engineering Team during product design, then coordinate the transition into and through Manufacturing. The senior manufacturing engineer works directly with customers as well as procurement, outside suppliers, in-house machining operations, and assembly & test technicians and engineers. Good organizational and communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Defining schedules and processes involved in assigned products manufacturing
- Coordination between Engineering & Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Purchasing
- Work with engineers and suppliers to design for manufacturability
- Provide equipment and process support including documentation through BOM’s, Work Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures, Validation Testing and Schedule Planning
- Cryomagnetics’ products involve precision-machined components that operate under high vacuum and at extremely low temperatures. Familiarity with machining, welding, leak testing, measurement devices and techniques, and basic electronics is involved.
Educational / Experience Requirements:
- Minimum BS in Manufacturing / Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Physics and 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering. Experience in product transfer from engineering to manufacturing is strongly preferred.
- Excellent planning, communication, troubleshooting and decision-making skills.
- Computer proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred), Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.
- Knowledge and experience in an ISO 9001:2105 environment is a plus.
