ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure that residents and their guests receive an enthusiastic, prompt, positive, service driven dining experience. Display a fresh, optimistic, and amiable attitude; you are here to serve our residents/guests and provide them with an exceptional dining experience.
Arrive at work in complete uniform ready to greet residents/guests and begin work at scheduled time in a clean and professional appearance. Demonstrate consistent and punctual attendance for daily shift meetings.
Need to be a dynamic and hardworking member of the team; must be willing to lend a helping hand to any teammate at any time.
Ability to memorize menu items including the ability to describe at least three main ingredients and the method of preparation for each item, as well as the ability to articulate new information to residents and guests. Utilize suggestive selling techniques.
Need to be able to think quickly and successfully multi-task large sections of dining room.
Complete all assigned side work/cleaning projects and opening/closing duties.
Provide service as outlined in the F&B department Steps of Service.
Ensure all timing standards are met either by accomplishing them personally or insuring that another member of the service team accomplishes them.
Make verbal, visual, or physical contact with all tables every time in section.
Maintain and correctly handle restaurant equipment and supplies so that unnecessary wear and tear, breakage, and waste do not occur.
Insure all voids and promos are approved and signed by a manager.
Immediately request management's assistance when in need of help with a service or food related issue.
Comply with all safety policies and procedures demonstrating safe work practices. Identify and report unsafe or hazardous work conditions. Report all workplace injuries and illnesses to a supervisor immediately.
Respond promptly and positively to management direction and requests.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
May serve as a representative on safety committee or other ad hoc committee.
No prior experience required.
Possess a positive attitude, empathy for guests, timeliness, desire to learn, attention to detail and routine, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Food handler's card required within 30 days of filling position.
High school education or currently enrolled in high school.
Must meet age requirements for work shifts assigned.
Requires good interpersonal communication skills to relate with residents as well as co-workers.
When training is complete must have comprehensive understanding of Point of Service terminal functions and all explained job duties.
Basic reading and writing skills.
Exposed to wet floors. Solid black "leather" or equivalent slip resistant shoes required within 4 weeks.
Frequent use of body to reach/twist and carry, push/pull and lift. Frequent use of hands and arms to grasp, pinch or squeeze. Reaching and twisting are under worker control. Requires good body mechanics. To lesser degree, is exposed to same environmental and work hazards as kitchen staff. Works in hot, humid environment. Works with equipment with moving parts, exposure to sharp objects, steam pots, hot ovens, surfaces or liquids. Required to bend and lift supplies. Uses arms and hands constantly, some repetitive motions for limited periods of shift.
