Veterinary Technician – Veterinary Care & Specialty Group

Full-time Veterinary Technicians for weekend days & nights, weekday mid shifts

Veterinary Care & Specialty Group (VCSG) is an emergency and referral hospital located in the South Broad Street area of Chattanooga, TN. We are a full-service hospital for small-animal emergencies. We see a myriad of cases requiring simple to complex treatments and surgeries. Our facility has the latest diagnostic equipment including MRI, ultrasound, digital x-ray, CT, and state-of-the-art lab equipment.

We have ER veterinarians on a rotating schedule in the hospital 24 hours a day and trained technicians on triage and ICU at all times. We have three board-certified Internal Medicine veterinarians seeing cases on a referral basis from local veterinarians. We have board-certified surgeons for soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries, a neurologist, oncologist, cardiologist, and two criticalists.

We are looking for ER/ICU nurses for first, second, & third shifts.

Technicians must be able to multi-task, understand the urgency of emergency work, and move with the flow. This line of work is as much about the clients as it is the owners. You must be able to demonstrate compassion and patience as most clients are here under dire circumstances.

Skills required would include, but are not limited to:
Patient restraint
Venipuncture
IV catheter placement
Administering oral, IV, SQ, & IM medications
Triage nursing
Critical care nursing
CPR
Radiology
Laboratory sample handling
Laboratory testing
Anesthetic monitoring
Surgical assistance
Mathematical calculation
Lifting at least 40lbs
Excellent client service & communication skills
