Job Title: Lead Developer

Location: Bristol

Office Location: Fully Remote

Salary: £70,000 - £75,000 per annum

Job Summary

The Lead Developer will be responsible for leading a team of developers, architecting and developing high-quality software solutions.

This role requires someone to spearhead technical initiatives and gain buy-in from the business and the technical team. The Lead Developer will collaborate with a Product Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

Lead and mentor a team of developers, ensuring high-quality software design and code standards.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, and deliverables.
Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to the development team.

Software Development

Develop and maintain back-end services, databases, and APIs.
Troubleshoot, debug and optimize applications for performance and scalability.

Quality Assurance

Implement best practices for coding, testing, and deployment.
Ensure code quality, security, and compliance with industry standards.
Conduct system analysis to identify performance bottlenecks and recommend improvements.

Experience needed

Experience as a Lead/Principal Engineer/Development Team Lead having mentored/led technical teams.
A solid technical grounding in back-end development using Typescript.
A solid technical grounding in AWS (API Gateway, Lambdas, Elasticsearch).
Strong technical leadership experience.
Strong architectural and SOLID coding knowledge.

Remuneration Package

Permanent contract
Up to £75,000 per annum
Flexible working hours (core hours of 10 am - 4 pm)
37.5-hour working week
10% of time allocated to professional development
