Head of Technical Pricing

About the Role
The Head of Technical Pricing will lead the development and execution of our technical pricing strategy, helping us to achieve our long-term business objectives whilst ensuring we provide value to our customers and meet the financial requirements of our insurer partners.
How will you do this?
You will be responsible for the continuous management and development of our technical pricing/burn cost models, including for new propositions, and will be a part of the senior team managing our portfolios to ensure we deliver profitable results for our insurer partners in line with target loss ratios.
You will develop a technical pricing plan and strategy, which will include identifying, testing and sponsoring new innovations. You will keenly track the past and project the future underwriting performance of the portfolios providing valuable insight and commentary internally and externally. You will play an important role (as part of the management team) in recommending short term and long-term pricing changes and the consideration and deployment of new opportunities. Interaction with our insurers is also a key part of the role, both in terms of discussing past performance and shaping the future of our partnerships.
About You
- Dedicated to analytical excellence with a proven track record of using statistical technical modelling techniques
- Extensive experience using market pricing software
- Strong experience in contributing to the underwriting performance management of a Personal Lines portfolio
- Proven history of delivering and reporting on portfolio performance through technical modelling insights
- Expert communicator effectively building trusting relationships by understanding and meeting expectations of key internal and external stakeholders
- Considerable experience of working in the insurance industry
- Constantly developing your knowledge and skills and keeping up to date with emerging data and pricing techniques, legal and market developments.
