What this Job Entails:
The Network Provisioning Engineer II is the focal point for all internal and external orders required to maintain the network. This position requires the ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy and attention to details.
Scope:
- Applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues
- Works on problems of moderate scope
- Receives general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new projects
Your Roles and Responsibilities:
- Participate in implementation of various software services
- Review ticket requirements, reserving router interface, assigning patch panel demarcation, designing path, track FOC and DLR, requesting patching between equipment, and ordering cross-connects
- Track milestones and proactively drive any activities that may jeopardize orders from completing on time
- Provide thorough and timely status throughout the entire implementation life cycle in the tracking system; including communicating vendor provisioning/install lead times
- Document service requests, escalate as needed, and provide timely and accurate updates
- Design, provision, and test delivered services to ensure quality hand-off to internal customers
- Expedite and escalate issues when necessary to ensure timely delivery of services
- Prioritize projects, manage and direct activities to deliver connectivity within project schedule
- Communicate and collaborate with internal customers, stakeholders and network carriers
- Participate in metrics development and operational reporting/reviews
- Support planned systems maintenance activity while minimizing impact to services
- Read and comprehend vendor specific requirements

Required Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from four-college or university and 2 to 5 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Builds productive internal and external working relationships
- Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
- Experience with basic telecommunications practices, terminologies, and interfaces
- Knowledge of cable throughput and transit distances
- Understanding of telecommunications industry in a switched network provisioning environment
- Understanding of provisioning network bandwidth for IP transit, fiber, voice and wavelength services
Preferred Qualifications:
- Network Certification
- Various coding experience
Physical Demand & Work Environment:
- Must have the ability to perform office-related tasks which may include prolonged sitting or standing
- Must have the ability to move from place to place within an office environment
- Must be able to use a computer
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively
