A fast-paced AI scale-up is expanding, looking for the top talent in AI to join their incredible team. If you are a hands-on talented engineer with a desire to progress, this is definitely the role for you, with the ideal candidate having worked as a founding engineer in a start-up/scale-up.
The role
This is a hands-on role, suitable for an individual who will be working to assist in expanding their already established system to accommodate the increasing user demand. Their technology stack spans various domains, including front-end, backend, and edge computing. Your primary responsibility will revolve around enhancing the backend infrastructure.
This role encompasses the following tasks:
- Enhancing database performance to keep pace with the rapid growth of our customer base.
- Suggesting and incorporating new database technologies when necessary.
- Planning and structuring backend APIs, ensuring the system's scalability and providing comprehensive observability.
- Preserving the existing backend codebase and system with an emphasis on high uptime and availability.
- Delivering top-quality features, conducting thorough testing, and debugging any issues that arise.
- Collaborating with a broader team to implement a variety of product features.
Requirements and experience we are looking for:
- 3+ years of industry experience and having built systems of reasonable scale.
- You should be familiar and have experience with the main backend technologies:
- FastAPI, Python, Docker, Postgres, Redis
- In particular, you should have experience debugging, scaling, and optimizing API + database solutions as the traffic grows.
- It would be great if you also have experience with one or more
- infrastructure-as-code solutions (Pulumi).
- monitoring (Sentry and Grafana).
- authentication (Auth0).
- Any experience with front-end (React), platform engineering (C++), or video streaming is a strong bonus but not required.
- High intrinsic motivation to succeed and ability to work hard.
