Battery Pack Test Engineer – Job Summary
North America Battery Test Lab is seeking a Battery Pack Test Engineer to conduct battery pack development and validation tests for electric vehicles. The role involves supporting the lab from its launch phase to full operation.
Key Responsibilities:
Lab Launch Phase:
- Complete training and adhere to safety procedures.
- Learn and operate battery test system hardware and software.
- Assist in developing test procedures, reports, and commissioning test equipment.
Full Operation Phase:
- Execute battery pack tests, ensuring data accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain lab safety standards and communicate test progress.
- Generate high-quality test reports and support issue resolution.
- Optimize test equipment utilization and escalate issues as needed.
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience with lab tools and test monitoring.
- Knowledge of lithium-ion batteries and battery testing.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience with battery test systems (AVL PUMA), CAN tools (Vector CANalyzer), and data processing (MATLAB/Python).
- Familiarity with EV battery diagnostics and ISO 17025/9001 standards.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
