SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER- Etobicoke, ON
Client is an (HVAC and plumbing) company that is looking for a key member for their Engineering Team. You will be involved in projects from start to finish and will participate in field surveying, engineering design, inspections, technical report preparation, systems testing and commissioning.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design of building mechanical systems including HVAC, Plumbing & Drainage, Building Automation
- Field surveying to review existing building systems
- Production of engineering load calculations, equipment sizing and selection
- Production of engineered drawings, details and schematics in AutoCAD
- Preparation of technical specifications
- Strong knowledge of OBC and relevant standards (NFPA, ASHRAE, CSA)
- Preparation of technical reports
- Coordination with other disciplines
- Contract administration including issuance of site instructions, submittal reviews, field inspections and production of field reports
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- P.Eng. is a must
- Senior level experience in building mechanical systems (plumbing & drainage, HVAC, fire protection) design
- Minimum 10 years experience in relevant field
- Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks while working on multiple assignments
- Good analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency using MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Proficiency with HVAC load calculations (HAP preferred, energy modeling is an asset)
- Work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with clients and clients
- Understanding and application of relevant codes and regulations
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle
