Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Tactical Fighters Business Unit specializes in the development, manufacture, assembly, testing, and sustainment of key F-35 sensors and systems. We are seeking a Director to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. This position will be located onsite in Baltimore, MD.
The Director is responsible for F-35 Radar Development. The position has P&L responsibility for the management, strategy and execution of the F-35 Radar Development programs. This position reports to the Director, F-35 Radar Production and Development (OU Director).
Responsibilities include:
Leads and directs cross-functional teams to meet program cost, schedule and technical performance objectives in a matrix organizational environment
Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, risk/opportunity management, identifies program problems and obtains solutions
Identifies, allocates and manages program resources
Creates a positive employee experience for the employees assigned to the operating unit by focusing on retention initiatives and supporting professional development
Delivers presentations to customers, executive management and other program stakeholders
Cultivates customer relationships and intimacy to develop further opportunities within the customer community
Develops business area strategies and new business opportunities that are consistent with Division/ Sector priorities to drive growth
Participates in the negotiation of contracts, contract changes, specifications, operating budgets, schedule milestones, and key terms and conditions.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years of program management or related experience
Demonstrated expertise in development-phase program execution to lead the performance of tasks on schedule and at cost
Proven success in leading and influencing individuals and teams in a matrix environment
Demonstrated ability to foster existing customer relationships and develop new customer relationships
Exceptional communication, collaboration, and executive presence skills to effectively interact with customer and senior leadership
Must be a US citizen with an Active DoD Secret Clearance OR DoE equivalent and the ability to obtain special access clearances is required
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in engineering and/or business administration
4+ years in leading development programs or technical teams (engineering management, functional management)
Demonstrated knowledge of radar systems
Demonstrated knowledge of strategic planning and new business development
Salary Range: $194,800 - $292,200
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
