As a Low Latency Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing their global network infrastructure to ensure ultra-low latency and high throughput for their trading systems. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will analyze network performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to enhance their trading capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network engineering, low-latency networking protocols, and experience within the financial industry.
The role:
- Design and implement low-latency network infrastructure: Architect and deploy network solutions that optimize performance, minimize latency, and ensure high availability for our global trading operations.
- Optimize network performance: Continuously monitor, analyze, and optimize network performance to reduce latency, increase throughput, and improve overall network efficiency.
- Implement low-latency networking protocols: Configure and fine-tune network devices, switches, routers, and firewalls to support low-latency networking protocols such as PTP, PPS, UDP, and multicast.
- Conduct network capacity planning: Evaluate current and future network bandwidth requirements, analyze traffic patterns, and plan for network expansion to support growing trading volumes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with traders, software developers, and infrastructure teams to understand requirements, gather feedback, and ensure seamless integration of network solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues: Investigate and resolve complex network-related problems, including latency spikes, packet loss, and connectivity issues, in a time-sensitive trading environment.
What you offer:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering roles, preferably within the financial industry or high-frequency trading environments.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, UDP, multicast, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and QoS.
- Experience with low-latency networking protocols and technologies, such as Precision Time Protocol (PTP), Precision Packet Synchronization (PPS), and network timestamping.
- Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting network devices, including switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, or Arista.
- Understanding of network security concepts, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and DDoS mitigation.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent industry certifications are highly desirable.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced trading environment, with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
