Project / Senior Quantity Surveyor – Minor Works / Social Housing – Essex
I wanted to reach out, as I am representing an exciting Main Contractor that specialise in design, delivery and management capabilities for Regeneration, Refurbishment and New Build Solutions across Essex, Hertfordshire, and East London.
The Company / Projects
This particular Division partners with Local Authorities, Social Housing Providers, Private Landlords and Developers! Primarily working within Residential sector but also working within commercial, retail and various public use spaces.
Works include: External works projects, including brick and concrete repairs, special and liquid coatings, EWI and structural fixes for clients across the UK. E.g. Wetherby EWI installation, Helifix Wall Ties, Sika Concrete repairs and protective coatings and Triflex Walkway Coatings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the commercial lead, managing all aspects of quantity surveying for the project.
- Conduct thorough cost analysis and provide accurate estimations for materials, labour, and other expenses.
- Implement effective cost control measures to ensure the project remains within budget constraints.
- Collaborate closely with the project management team to monitor project progress and identify potential risks or variations.
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring favourable terms and conditions for the project.
- Prepare detailed reports and financial forecasts to keep stakeholders informed of project finances and performance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost management principles.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
