Job Title: Project/Programme Manager – Master Data Management (MDM)
Location: London or Birmingham (1 day per week)
Employment Type: Contract 6 months
Rate: £450pd
Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Project/Programme Manager to lead the next phase of the Master Data Management (MDM) programme. The role will be responsible for managing the transition of the MDM work to the ATOS consortium, while ensuring the continued alignment of data structures and the enhancement of governance processes. Additionally, the manager will oversee the implementation of the MDM platform and define the future roadmap and strategy for MDM, alongside managing smaller data and information management workstreams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Core MDM Management:
- Continue aligning data structures between Rail Systems Programme Controls and Systems Integration.
- Manage system of record, ownership, and change control processes for key data items, such as SBS, Work Location, Milestone, Stage, Work (package), and Asset (scope classification).
- MDM Governance:
- Review and reinvigorate the MDM Working Group.
- Ensure seamless integration with existing governance forums and establish effective reporting and process monitoring.
- MDM Platform Implementation:
- Advance the MDM platform implementation.
- Prepare the business case and specifications for the future procurement of an MDM tool.
- Ensure alignment with related ongoing projects.
- MDM Roadmap & Strategy:
- Define the future roadmap and high-level strategy for MDM programme.
- Coordinate with the wider Data and Information Management and IT strategies to ensure alignment.
- Additional Data Workstreams:
- Oversee smaller data and information management workstreams as needed, ensuring they align with the overall programme goals.
Expected Outcomes and Deliverables:
- Well-documented and governed data structures across HS2, including clearly defined ownership, system of record, and change control processes.
- A fully functioning and effective MDM Working Group, integrated with broader governance structures.
- A completed high-level requirement specification for the procurement of the MDM tool.
- A clear and strategic roadmap outlining the future direction of MDM efforts.
Required Skills and Expertise:
- Project/Programme Management:
- Proven experience in managing large-scale projects, ideally within data management, MDM, or IT environments.
- Data Management Expertise:
- In-depth understanding of MDM principles, data governance, and data structures.
- Team Leadership:
- Strong team management skills, with a track record of leading cross-functional teams and driving successful delivery of project milestones.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders, governance forums, and diverse teams, ensuring transparent communication and collaboration.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Familiarity with data tools and systems, including experience in managing system requirements for platforms such as Prism, P6, Xactium, and Doors.
- Governance and Process Management:
- Demonstrated experience in establishing governance frameworks, monitoring processes, and ensuring compliance with best practices.
- Strategic Thinking:
- Capable of defining and implementing strategic roadmaps, aligning them with the broader goals of the organization.
