PURPOSE & OBJECTIVE
We have an opportunity for an experienced Enterprise IT Architect to create and support the evolution of the function and an increase in demand from high-profile IT projects across Endeavour. The role will focus on several things including future technology direction, technology and application life cycle management to ensure that the technology, estates and platforms are within acceptable risk boundaries, and vendor landscape relating to the broader architecture of the organisation is considered.
You will also be responsible for defining the future road map for the technologies and platforms for the organisation, whilst working with senior IT and business stakeholders. You will also be involved with broader industry research, understanding where the technology and the mining industry are heading from an IT point of view to ensure a forward-facing approach.
You will work closely with the IT leadership and team, and business stakeholders, so being able to understand that world whilst being able to utilise your information architecture and technology architecture skills will form an integral part of your role.
This role requires a self-starter, collaborative, active listener profile that can help our organization define what good IT Architecture should be while “gaining the yes” from stakeholders.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
His/Her key responsibilities are the following :
Strategic Alignment
- Aligning the enterprise systems with the strategic vision of the company
- Working with business stakeholders to clarify and refine requirements aligned with business objectives
Enterprise Architecture Definition and Maintenance
- Contributing to the definition and ongoing maintenance of the Enterprise Architecture using pragmatic application of TMF standards (e.g. eTOM process map and SID data model)
- Taking ownership for the domains of the enterprise architecture (e.g. OSS, BSS) and working to continuously improve focusing on efficiency, security and data integrity
Solution Delivery
- Architectural lead for key digital transformation programme(s)
- Taking an end to end view to ensure that delivered solutions are fit for purpose and meet business expectations
- Collaborating closely with business and technology functions to deliver system changes of varying complexity
- Ensuring that the best solutions are delivered to achieve the desired outcomes
Design oversight and problem resolution
- Overseeing and reviewing design decisions to ensure consistency and alignment
- Actively diving into and resolving any architectural challenges or issues that arise.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Project Management, or related field (BAC+4)
- Language: Bilingual (French & English)
Qualification
As our IT Enterprise Architect, you will have the right mixture of technical knowledge, as well as being able to engage and communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels. You will be the type of person who has strong leadership qualities to lead teams with or without authorities and can share knowledge, to upskill and coach colleagues.
You will be able to convey complex topics to senior stakeholders and deep dive into technical topics with IT colleagues and vendors where needed. You will also be or have:
- Demonstrable experience as an Enterprise IT Architect playing a key role in an IT architecture function
- Working knowledge of all Architectural domains
- Working knowledge of Architectural standards and methodologies e.g. TOGAF. and Architectural design paterns.
- Experience maintaining IT product and supplier roadmaps for specific domains
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at a senior level.
Person Specifications
- Excellent interpersonal/relationship-building skills and able to successfully manage senior stakeholders relationships.
- Strong presentation and negotiation skills plus the ability to articulate complex solutions without losing the audience – “Gain the yes”.
- Strong, credible leader with an ability to challenge and broker agreements between both the Data and senior business stakeholders where conflicting prioritise arise
- High quality project management skills with strong working knowledge of project governance, plus risk and issue management.
- Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced environment facing high and/or conflicting priorities
- Demonstrable experience as a complex business problem solver
Additional Skills (Preferred but not required)
- Experience of various project management methodologies, tools, and techniques, such as Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, MS Project, Azure DevOps, Jira, etc., and have adapted them to the specific needs and context of each project.
