We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Engineer with excellent troubleshooting skills and great attention to detail to join our IT support team. As a 3rd Line IT Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing advanced technical support to both our customer base and internal staff, ensuring the smooth operation of all IT infrastructure.
This role requires in-depth knowledge of IT systems, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support:
- Responding to client Support Requests through our ITSM Tools or by Telephone
- Provide expert-level support to resolve complex IT issues escalated from 1st and 2nd line support teams.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-connectivity related problems.
- Installing, and upgrading Operating Systems
- Installing, and upgrading Software
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement permanent solutions to prevent recurring issues.
- Making suggested improvements on the IT infrastructure
- Escalation of any unresolved issues.
- Successful Delivery of Quality of Service within agreed SLA’s
- Administer and maintain servers, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of server operating systems
- Manage and optimize virtualization environments (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
- Implement and manage Active Directory, Group Policies, and other directory services.
- Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and other network infrastructure components.
- Monitor network performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Demonstrable experience of working as a Systems Administrator, Technical Support Specialist, or a related role.
- Proven expertise in Windows server environments. (inc. Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, File Services, IIS etc.)
- Patch Management Systems (Spacewalk/Satellite)
- Working with Server Hardware like Dell/Cisco UCS/HPE
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, security principles, and best practices.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent working knowledge of monitoring solutions such as Zabbix.
- General Understanding of Security Policies and ITIL Processes (Incident/Change/Problem Management)
- Excellent working knowledge of Backup and Disaster Recovery products
Desirable
- HND or Degree level qualification in Computer Science or related field.
- Certifications such as MCSE, CCNA, or equivalent.
- The ability to challenge current processes to drive continual improvement.
