Our client, an international company specializing and leading in metalforming machinery, is seeking an ENGINEERING MANAGER / COUNTRY MANAGER for the local business unit. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, sales-oriented professional who is a confident decision-maker with the technical skills to roll up their sleeves and get hands-on with clients when needed. As a hands-on leader, this individual will manage daily operations as the General Manager for the UK and drive growth forward.
As the Leader of the Team UK you have a deep understanding of technical sales and service operations in the machinery sector, particularly in metalforming or fastening, and will be focused on increasing profitability while ensuring the team thrives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and manage strong relationships with customers in the metalforming machinery sector
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities (machine sales, aftermarket services, agency agreements)
- Negotiate effectively with customers
- Implement and manage after-sales projects, ensuring proper maintenance and service of customer assets
- Oversee daily business operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflows
- Troubleshoot and resolve customer technical issues related to metalforming machinery
- Develop a growth strategy and set business goals
- Lead the development of the company's commercial strategy, directing sales initiatives and projects
- Manage recruitment, training, and development of employees
- Regularly evaluate and enhance operational and financial performance
- Provide regular reports to upper management on business performance
About you:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred, but equivalent business experience will also be considered.
- Significant hands-on experience with cold heading machines (including single die, 2 die 3, 2 die 4, and multi-station transfer machines) is essential. Familiarity with thread rolling processes, such as flat die, planetary, circular 2-die, and 3-die methods, as well as secondary operations like trimming, turning, tapping, and pointing, is required
- Prior experience as a Commercial or Service Manager in the forging and/or fastener industry. Ability to lead and manage complex projects with medium to long-term timelines, demonstrating strong leadership and project management capabilities
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with a proven ability to negotiate and build relationships
- Strong problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills, with an analytical mindset
