2500 – Programme Manager – Aberdeen/London or Remote
We have an excellent opportunity for a highly experienced and motivated Programme Manager to join our team. You will be responsible for the successful delivery of a programme of Data Related Integration and Transformation Change Projects, following the recent completion of a significant corporate acquisition. Ideally, you will be located in Aberdeen or London, but we will also consider candidates who are looking to work on a remote basis with occasional travel.
What you’ll do
- You will report to the Information Systems & Digital (IS&D) Transformation Director
- As part of the IS&D Transformation Team, and working with the Transformation Project Office (TPO), you will work to build and maintain an accurate view of your programme, with a particular focus on delivery performance, cost, resourcing, risks and issues
- You will work closely with the Data Programmes Technical Lead to ensure the programme delivery is aligned to the company standards, solutions architecture and data management framework
- You will be accountable for ensuring the team has the capacity and capability to meet its delivery scope, while maintaining a suitable forecast of future need aligned to “break-in” demand
- You will ensure programme delivery proceeds in alignment with agreed project management processes, governance and reporting structures, is delivered to a high standard, on time and within agreed budgets
- You will be your project managers primary point of escalation in relation to significant or systemic project delivery issues, working closely with the IS Transformation Leadership, business and other IS&D stakeholders to ensure prompt resolution
- Collaborate closely with the Transformation Leadership Team, Transformation Programme Managers, business stakeholders, and business functions to ensure there is close alignment and a clear understanding of dependencies, consensus on the scope, budget and schedule required for transformation
- Ensure programme delivery is prioritised and proceeds following the integration principles of safety, value, simplicity and is time-bound to ensure stable exit from the Temporary Services Agreement (TSA)
- Work with the Transformation Programme Director to ensure your Programme delivery capability is resourced to agreed levels, both in terms of staff, contract, and managed service resources. Specifically, that you have sufficient project managers, business analysts and programme managers to meet current demand, with a pipeline to support forthcoming demand as agreed
- Work with your Project Managers to identify negative trends or systemic issues impacting the success or effectiveness of Data Programme and ensure you have effective remediation plans to resolve issues effectively
- Facilitate effective communication channels with key stakeholders and establish a feedback loop to evaluate effectiveness and performance of programme delivery
- There will be a requirement for travel within the UK and Europe
What to bring
- You will have experience in delivering data related projects and programmes
- Experience and exposure to the following data discipline areas is important:
-Data warehousing /ETL/modelling (in particular Azure platform)
-Digital delivery (Microsoft Power Platform)
-Data science, analytics (Power BI / Python biased)
-Data governance frameworks and delivery
- Substantial experience of managing multiple projects as part of a larger technology enabled business programme
- Experience of managing large technology teams in a cross functional organisation
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to develop and communicate the programme objectives, inspire and motivate staff, and maintain alignment with IS and business strategy
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain and “sell” the programme goals and objectives to the stakeholders and to technical leadership
- Strong business acumen, including industry and domain-specific knowledge of the organisation and its business units. Familiarity with industry trends and innovation, and how other organisations are using them to drive digital business
- Conflict resolution, influencing and negotiation experience and skills in an environment with high competition for resources.
- Strong project planning and execution skills
- Ability to develop projects and deliver them against financial and resource constraints
- Proven track record with the use of reporting tools to monitor programme activities and analyse programme performance
- Strong knowledge of project management principles including Waterfall and Agile
- Qualifications in one of the following project delivery methodology or frameworks and experience of others, such as:
-PMI standards
-PMP
-PRINCE2
-Agile
-Managing Successful Programmes (MSP)
