Network Security Engineer
Salary: Up to £70,000 (depending on experience)
Location: Stevenage (Hybrid: 1-2 days on-site)
Security Clearance: Must be DV clearable.
Join a leading defence organization as a Network Security Engineer , where you’ll play a pivotal role in protecting critical infrastructure. You’ll design, implement, and maintain security solutions, working with cross-functional teams to safeguard against evolving threats and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and secure network infrastructure by configuring firewalls (e.g., Cisco, Checkpoint, Palo Alto).
- Implement next-gen firewall features like IPS/IDS, SSL decryption, and deep packet inspection.
- Maintain secure proxy solutions (e.g., BlueCoat, F5), content filtering, and SSL inspection.
- Ensure secure operations with network protocols (IPSec, VPNs, SSL/TLS) and two-factor authentication.
- Monitor network traffic using tools like PRTG and Nagios , and identify vulnerabilities.
What You’ll Need:
- Strong understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, routing, and switching).
- Proven expertise in firewalls , security protocols, and network architecture (DMZ, internal networks).
- Experience with network monitoring tools and incident response.
