We’re looking for a skilled and experienced Data Specialist to join our eCommerce consultancy / paid media agency. This role is critical in helping us put data at the heart of our business and drive data accuracy, accessibility, and insightful reporting for our teams and clients. We’ve built various internal tooling and have a good foundation around data and reporting, but we need to strengthen and invest more to improve all areas of our business.

As the internal owner and champion of data, you will be responsible for integrating data into BigQuery (or equivalent), creating trend reporting frameworks, developing low-code solutions, and overseeing data tracking and implementation processes. Your expertise will enable us to deliver actionable insights, support data-driven decision-making, and maintain efficient, scalable data infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Data Integration and Management:
- Oversee the integration and organization of data into BigQuery for efficient storage, processing, and querying.
- Work with data pipelines to bring in data from various sources, including Google Ads, Meta, Google Analytics, and Shopify.
Trend Reporting and Insights:
- Design, build, and maintain dashboards and trend reports that highlight key performance metrics across channels.
- Provide insights on data trends to support client strategy and decision-making, with a focus on ecommerce performance metrics.
- Own our internal benchmarking data - we have this currently but want to make it more scalable and add additional areas of data.
Low-Code Solutions:
- Develop low-code applications and automations to streamline data processes, improve reporting efficiencies, and simplify data access for end-users.
- Support internal teams with tailored low-code solutions to meet unique client data needs.
Tracking and Implementation Governance:
- Govern tracking standards, ensuring data integrity and accuracy across all analytics implementations.
- Oversee and support tracking setups, troubleshoot issues, and ensure tracking compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Data API Management:
- Integrate and maintain connections to APIs, particularly for Google Ads, Meta, Google Analytics, and Shopify, to ensure timely and accurate data flow.
- Collaborate with engineering and analytics teams to enhance API integrations and automate data retrieval.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience of implementing and driving data strategy in a similar business
- Experience with BigQuery (or equivalent) and data pipeline management (SQL proficiency required).
- Proven track record in trend reporting, data analysis, and insight generation.
- Strong experience with APIs, especially Google Ads, Meta, Google Analytics, and ideally Shopify.
- Familiarity with low-code tools and environments for creating streamlined, automated workflows.
- Data governance skills, particularly in tracking, standards compliance, and implementation.
- Ability to translate data into actionable insights for an eCommerce environment.
- Familiarity with other data visualisation tools, such as Data Studio / Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in eCommerce or digital marketing agency environments.
- Understanding of the broader eCommerce ecosystem, including trends in digital marketing and sales attribution.
- Python skills.
- Experience of working with or passion around utilising AI in data environments.
