Nexus Analytics & Research (NAR) is Nexus Planning’s dedicated in-house team of demographic, economic and GIS specialists. As well as assisting our colleagues, we also work with public sector clients and private sector clients, including national housebuilders, landowners, developers and well-renowned institutions. We provide standalone analysis, through comprehensive research that is fully integrated with our wider planning offer.
Role Description
We are actively seeking candidates with a background in economics, housing, planning or research for Senior/Principal/Associate Research Analyst roles in our Analytics and Research team and to support project delivery across our existing and growing client base based in the London office.

Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and coordination of key NAR outputs, including economic impact assessments, needs assessments, HIAs, socio-economic and human health ES chapters etc. This involves:
- An understanding of relevant policy and guidance
- Strong data analysis skills
- Sourcing of relevant data and statistical analysis
- Write-up of results in report format
- GIS analysis
- Providing ad-hoc assistance throughout the business with GIS and data needs
- Preparing fee proposals and tender documents
- Being actively involved in business development and promotion of NAR through attendance at client meetings and assistance with branding material
Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years relevant consultancy or public sector experience (essential), with an undergraduate degree in economics, geography, planning or similar with suitably transferable skills (desirable). In addition, you will demonstrate:
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
- An ability to manage time and work to deadlines
