Role Overview:
Our client are looking for a Senior Azure Data Engineer with Python expertise to join their London office. You will play a critical role in advancing their web-based private equity management platform, contributing to cutting-edge projects in data architecture and integration.
Tech Stack
Python, Azure Synapse (Databricks, Data Factory, Datalake), SQL Server, Cosmos DB, Data Studio, Azure DevOps, Power BI.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a champion for good data practices and architecture within the engineering team.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain data ingest pipelines to receive and display data from fund administrators in their applications.
- Manage and maintain databases across various environments.
- Collaborate with team members to design, develop, and implement new features and functionality.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code that is well-tested.
- Troubleshoot and debug data-related issues.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices, sharing insights with the engineering team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (relevant experience will also be considered).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in data engineering with strong Python skills.
- Proficiency in Azure for data processing, storage, and reporting.
- Experience designing data stores (relational, dimensional, NoSQL, Delta, etc.).
- Familiarity with web development technologies like TypeScript, React, and Node is a plus.
- Experience working in financial services is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of Git and version control, particularly Azure DevOps.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, particularly in data reconciliation, data quality assessment, and bug resolution.
- Experience with data reporting technologies such as PowerBI for business and IT functions is a plus.
