Our customer in the telecommunications industry is searching for a VMware Engineer to be responsible for the design, implementation, management, and optimization of virtualized environments using VMware technologies.
This role requires in-depth knowledge of VMware products and the ability to integrate them within various IT infrastructure setups to enhance efficiency, scalability, and performance.
This is a contract role to start in December and full remote working is accepted with very little travel to the client in Belgium.
Key Responsibilities:
- Virtualization Management : Design, implement, and manage virtualized environments using VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter Server.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) : Utilize IaC tools such as Terraform and Ansible to automate the provisioning and management of VMware infrastructure.
- Performance Tuning and Optimization : Monitor and optimize virtualized environments to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
- Automation and Orchestration : Develop and maintain automation scripts and workflows using tools like PowerCLI, vRealize Automation, and vRealize Orchestrator.
- Backup and Recovery : Implement and manage backup and recovery solutions using tools like VMware vSphere Data Protection and Veeam.
- Security and Compliance : Ensure that virtualized environments meet security and compliance requirements, implementing best practices for data protection and access control.
- Collaboration : Work with IT teams to integrate VMware solutions with other infrastructure components, ensuring seamless operations.
Required Skills:
- Technical Expertise : In-depth knowledge of VMware products and services, including vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, NSX, and vSAN.
- Automation Skills : Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, etc.) and automation tools (PowerCLI, Ansible).
- Problem-Solving : Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex issues in virtualized environments.
- Communication : Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
