We are looking for a highly skilled Lead DevOps Engineer to join a leading tech for good organisation on an initial 6-month contract. You will play a critical role in supporting and enhancing their Azure cloud infrastructure, as well as embedding a DevOps culture across their development teams.

In this role, you will be responsible for driving automation, optimisation, and the continuous improvement of their cloud services. Your deep technical expertise in Microsoft Azure and Terraform will be essential as you collaborate closely with software engineers to implement best practices in infrastructure as code and cloud service management.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the development, deployment, and optimisation of Azure cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.
Drive the implementation of Terraform for managing infrastructure as code (IaC), automating deployments, and optimising existing processes.
Collaborate with software development teams to instil a DevOps mindset, fostering a culture of continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD).
Proactively identify areas for automation and optimisation within the cloud environment, reducing manual processes and increasing efficiency.
Ensure security, compliance, and performance standards are met across all cloud services.
Use your Python skills to build and maintain scripts for automation and tooling as needed.

Key Requirements:

5+ years of experience working with Microsoft Azure in a senior capacity.
Strong hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure automation.
Solid experience with Python scripting for automation and tooling.
Proven ability to optimise and manage Azure cloud services, with a focus on scalability and performance.
Strong background in automation and a passion for driving efficiencies.
A software engineering background and experience working in DevOps environments will be highly valued.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively and work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

Duration: 6 months initial contract, with potential for extension
Day rate: £575 per day (outside IR35)
