Senior Data Engineer - Snowflake
London/Hybrid
up to £95,000 per annum + bonus & generous benefits package
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a global organisation within the insurance industry, famed for their diverse workforce and superb office culture.
As the new Data Engineer, you will be part of a migration from an on-prem system to the Cloud and will be offered plenty of autonomy to do so.
Main Duties will include:
- Working with data engineers & analysts to problem solve, build & deliver data products from ideation to production.
- Working to manage the migration efforts to migrate the company's on-prem DWH to the cloud (Snowflake).
- Playing a pivitol role with leading the full lifecycle of data engineering deliverables.
- Delivering complex data flows to process external data sources to provide the company with a competitive edge.
- Acting as a consultant to the business to meet their needs.
- Maintaining existing data solutions to ensure reliability and high data quality to maximise the utility of data within the business.
- Innovating by recommending opportunities to improve data engineering tooling & process.
- Mentoring and provide guidance to more junior colleagues.
Essential Skills Required:
- Proven experience within a Senior Data Engineer/ Data Engineer role, with a solid track record and focus on cloud-based environments.
- Strong Snowflake experience
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- SQL Server and Microsoft stack.
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- The ability and desire to mentor more junior engineers
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
