KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create, plan and execute the merchandise assortment strategies to meet sales targets and aligns with the brand identity and consumer demands.
- Lead a high performance team of 5. Mentor, develop staff and foster a collaborative team environment.
- Publish weekly business reporting for the executive team on product selling results.
- Setting competitive pricing policies by analyzing market prices, cost structures, and the perceived value of the product mix to maximize profitability and market share.
- Work closely with other departments such as marketing, sales, and operations to ensure that the product strategy aligns with sales objectives and the overall operational capabilities of OVO.
- Oversee inventory levels to ensure optimal stock turnover and minimize overstock situations.
- Manage promotions or clearance events to move products effectively within profit margin targets.
- Ensure timely submission of all vendor purchase orders and maintain accurate item data within the system.
- Prepare ad hoc reports and undertake special projects as required to support business needs and strategic initiatives.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships cross functionally. In assistance to production team to place order on delivery schedules and other selling channels to maximize profitability and ensure supply continuity.
MUST HAVES
- Minimum of 10 years experience as a merchant in a similar capacity.
- Minimum 4 years of management experience. Experience building and maintaining a high performance team.
- A deep understanding of customer needs and behaviors, with the ability to translate consumer insights into successful product offerings.
- Ability to accurately predict fashion trends and understand market dynamics.
- Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and retail financial metrics such as gross margin, sell-through rates, and conversion rates. Ability to manage budgets effectively and make cost-efficient decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey strategies, negotiate with vendors, and collaborate with team members and other departments.
- Must be comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where rapid decision-making is common.
- Self-motivated, comfortable working with ambiguity and strong problem-solving abilities to adapt strategies quickly based on market changes and business needs.
- Proficient in managing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
