This position is part of the Connect 6ix project. Toronto's new Ontario Line subway is now under construction. The Connect 6ix consortium has a key role in this project, delivering the trains, the signaling system, and the operations, storage, and maintenance facility. Connect 6ix will also operate the Ontario Line for a 30-year term once it comes into service.
The Interface Coordinator will be reporting to the Interface Manager to help in the review of design drawings, document control conflicts as well as prepare all reports and sketches related to the Electrical scope of work.
Role and General Responsibilities
- Help develop and implement within the Connect6ix CJV all necessary tools and procedures related to interface management activities within the CJV Scope of Works.
- Manage the implementation of the interface management process led by the CJV with the rest of the OL stakeholders, and, to keep the Interface Matrix and Interface Control Documents updated.
- Liaise with the project team and discipline engineers on all interface matters and/or help expedite the development of the interface management process between project stakeholders.
- Liaise with the Document Control team to assist consolidation of the interface management records for all project packages.
- Organize, control, and follow up processes to have all deliverables timely issued by the different stakeholders for all interfaces, and to control the quality of these deliverables during
- Attend all interface-related meetings, including interface workshops, HAZID / HAZOP meetings, meetings with different OL project stakeholders, etc. to ensure the permanent control of the battery limits.
- Ensure readiness and provide support to organize all internal/external audits required (PR, Third parties, Partners)
Skills and Qualifications
- Degree-level qualification in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Experience in interface management in railway and major civil projects or demonstrable experience in different design disciplines is required.
- Experience with interface development and in applying various interface management tools (e.G. ICDs and IDDs) and/or System Engineering techniques.
- Experience in Railway and major civil engineering works (over 5 years) and experience in design and interfaces desirable.
- Preference for railway knowledge including but not limited to civil, stations, depots, and rail systems.
- Ability to write accurate and detailed reports.
- Ability to chair meetings and take decisions.
- A good communicator and able to build positive working relationships, internally and with the supply chain.
- Ability to work on projects in a complex and multicultural environment
