Role details:
Our client, a prominent organisation within the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking an Algorithm Specialist to join their team on a contract basis to develop advanced algorithms for their cutting-edge defence products. This role is based in Bristol, with some flexibility for Stevenage.
Key Responsibilities:
Developing specific algorithms for missile and weapon systems, covering aspects such as autopilots, control systems, mid-course guidance, and artificial intelligence.
Conducting concept studies, algorithm design, trials preparation, and analysis.
Performing technical analyses and investigations to resolve issues.
Engaging with algorithm users to understand and respond to their requirements.
Acting as a point of contact for interactions with other project teams, including Simulation and Modelling, Software, and Hardware-in-the-Loop.
Job Requirements:
Experience in algorithm development, particularly in guidance, control, data fusion, navigation, or artificial intelligence.
Familiarity with mathematical modelling, such as flight dynamics, aerodynamics, sensors, and actuation systems.
Proficiency in simulation environments (such as MATLAB and Simulink) and programming languages (such as Python and FORTRAN).
Degree qualified or better in Engineering or a related field.
Security clearance (SC) required to start from day one.
