Job Purpose
As we continue to expand our market share in the rapidly emerging Employee Experience platform category, we are looking for a detail-oriented and fast-learning Junior Accountant to join our growing finance team. As a Junior Accountant you will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy of financial records and providing vital financial insights to help drive the company forward. We value eagerness to learn and adaptability in this role as you will be exposed to many areas of our business’ operations.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist with the completion of month-end processes, including preparation of journal entries and managing reconciliations (credit cards, VAT, fixed assets, prepayments, accruals, expenses).
- Work closely with the Group Finance Manager on monthly and annual reporting requirements, ensuring timely and accurate financial data.
- Analyse financial data and reports to identify trends and discrepancies, providing actionable insights for management.
- Assist with process improvements across the finance department to streamline and improve financial operations.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure adherence to finance policies and improve financial processes.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects to support the company’s growth, such as operational improvements, system implementations, and new finance initiatives.
- Provide support to the wider finance team, including FP&A, in financial analysis and reporting tasks.
Requirements
- Relevant degree/experience or part-qualified
- Knowledge of month-end processes, journal entries, and reconciliations.
- Familiarity with accounting software (experience with NetSuite is preferred, but not essential)
- Confident with technology and proficiency in Microsoft Excel for finance based activities e.g. pivots, lookups, sumifs, formatting
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in fast-paced environments.
- A quick learner, with the ability to adapt to new systems and processes swiftly.
- Strong analytical skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a willingness to collaborate and share knowledge.
