VIQU have partnered with a global industry leader, known for providing innovative security and access solutions.
They are seeking a proactive Network & Security Engineer to maintain and enhance network security across the EMEA region. The ideal candidate will be experienced in cybersecurity projects, skilled with various network monitoring tools, and confident in collaborating with stakeholders at all levels. This role offers a dynamic mix of 50% BAU and 50% project-based work, with occasional travel, including at least monthly visits to Birmingham and more irregular international site visits. The successful Network and Security Engineer will be a strong communicator with exceptional problem-solving skills.
Key responsibilities of the Network & Security Engineer:
- Lead the design and implementation of network and security infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, intrusion detection, and access control systems.
- Oversee and monitor network and security operations, swiftly addressing and resolving any incidents or issues that arise.
- Act as the go-to expert for network security across both on-premises and cloud environments.
- Contribute to the development and enforcement of network security policies, ensuring compliance across the EMEA region.
Experience Required for the Network & Security Engineer:
- 3-4 years of experience in global enterprise IT networking, with a focus on network engineering and security.
- Strong expertise in designing, implementing, and managing on-premises and cloud security systems, with familiarity in Fortinet firewalls (experience with Juniper, Cisco, or Palo Alto is also valued).
- Proficient in Cisco technologies, including ICE and switches, as well as transitioning networking to cloud environments.
- Experience with Netskope for secure access solutions, having replaced traditional Cisco VPNs.
- Skilled in network monitoring and incident response using CrowdStrike.
- Relevant industry certifications in security or networking (e.g., CCNP, CISSP, CEH) are highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- German language proficiency is a bonus but not required.
