Data Engineering Manager – Fintech / Start-Up London (Hybrid Working)

As the Data Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving their data strategy, helping them unlock the potential of data to drive better decisions, and making homeownership accessible to a new generation. This is an opportunity to truly enable the company’s growth strategy by shaping data strategy and architecture.
We are seeking a Data Engineering Manager who will lead and shape their data function, enabling them to provide seamless access to data for teams across the business. In this role, you will be a hands-on technical contributor while also providing leadership to a small but talented data team.
Data Strategy & Architecture:
Define and implement the company’s data strategy, shaping architecture and setting the direction for how we manage, access, and leverage data.
Apply your strong technical expertise to tackle complex data challenges and ensure the efficient flow of high-quality data across the organisation.
Lead and mentor a small data team, fostering a collaborative environment and driving high performance. Partner with teams across business areas such as product, risk, and partners to deliver tailored data solutions and actionable insights that align with our business goals.
Self-Serve Data Enablement:
Develop and implement self-service data solutions, empowering business teams to access, analyse, and act on data without reliance on the data team. Proven experience in a Data Engineering Manager or Lead Data Engineer role with a mix of hands-on technical ability and leadership.
Expertise in modern data technologies and architecture, with a strong background in building and optimising data pipelines, storage solutions, and integration strategies.
A proactive problem-solver with a track record of successfully overcoming data challenges in fast-paced environments.
Ability to evaluate, select, and implement self-serve data tools and technologies to drive business-wide data access.
A passion for leveraging data to create positive business impact, with a mission-driven mindset to help more people achieve homeownership.
Competitive salary up to £110,000
